Hospice Austin

Potluck date:

Saturday, 25 April 2009 - 6:30pm to 9:00pm

Austin is one of the oldest and largest non-profit hospice programs in
Texas, providing family-centered, quality end of life care that
emphasizes compassion, independence, respect and dignity. Hospice
Austin owns and operates Hospice Austin's Christopher House, a 15-bed
in-patient facility, located on MLK Blvd. They also offer a volunteer
program with training twice a year. In addition, they sponsor Support
Source, which provides support for people with long term terminal
illnesses who are not yet ready for "hospice care." Our host, Peggy
Stoll, will talk about what comfort or palliative care consists of, how
one comes to use it, and the services it provides. You can visit www.hospiceaustin.org to learn more, or contact Peggy at 512-837-8957 or by email at [email protected].

Please bring
a dish that serves approximately 6-8 people. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN
plates, cups and utensils as well as whatever you would like to drink.
