Austin Progressive Potluckers: Friendship Force

Potluck date:

Saturday, 10 October 2009 - 5:30pm to 8:00pm

Friendship Force - Austin Chapter was established in 1984 with the mission of sowing the seeds of friendship across the nations of the world. This is a people to people program to learn about each other and strengthen the ties of friendship. Members have participated in Friendship Force sponsored trips to Australia, Africa, Cuba, Europe, the Far East, the Middle East and South America. In addition, Friendship Force clubs from Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Russia, Taiwan, and some within the United States, have visited to have the Austin Experience. Friendship Force believes that "a world of friends is a world of peace". Join us at the October potluck to learn more about the origins of Friendship Force International, the activities of the local chapter, and how you can get involved. For questions, please call Ann Cabot at 565-9666.

Please note: Since the event is outdoors, if it is raining that afternoon around 5, please consider the potluck cancelled.

Please bring a dish that serves approximately 6-8 people and something to drink. Please bring your own plate and eating utensils (our host will have extras on hand just in case).

Drive into Zilker Park as if you were going to the pool area (turn off Barton Springs Road). Go up the hill then past the pool (on the left) and past the theater area (on the right). Keep driving. The road curves to the right and downhill a bit. You'll see the sign for Rock Garden Picnic Area on your right. The parking lot is right next to the picnic tables. The area will be lit after dark. When the event is over, you will exit from the parking lot straight to Barton Springs Road.
