What better way to take action on Hunger Day than to get your hands dirty growing food to benefit homeless and food insecure Austinites? Join the Basic Needs Coalition and Genesis Gardens, a project of Mobile Loaves and Fishes that empowers the homeless through involvement in small-scale urban agriculture projects, on Monday, November 14th for a morning helping out at an urban garden. Over lunch, learn what Austin organizations are doing to create a more food-secure community, and how you can get involved! Bring gloves, a water bottle, a sack lunch, and resolve. Please RSVP by emailing Sari Albornoz at [email protected].
When: Monday, November 14th, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
Where: Onion Creek Baptist Church , 8214 East Riverside Drive, Austin , TX 78744
