Permablitz at Munkebo Farm

Repeats every day until Sun Apr 26 2015.
Saturday, April 25, 2015 - 9:00am to 6:00pm

A permablitz is a community organized and supported event to spread permaculture design, practice, and implementation through out the Central Texas Area.

Munkebo Farm adheres to Permaculture methods as closely as possible. Their goal is to be organically certified and have no imports; be a closed loop system. This means growing all our animal’s food needs on site. Compost tea, green manure and cultivating the soil/food web is how they are bringing fertility to their soil.

At this ‘blitz we will be implementing permaculture style techniquies to increase the productivity of this farm. We will dig and plant berms and swales on contour with trees and plants, including native and cultivar trees, farmer’s trees, perennial vegetables, butterfly, bee, and beneficial insect gardens, and other food-producing plants suited for our climate. We will support our plantings with soil amendments, cover crops, mulch, and drip irrigation. Come join us!Come out to give back to our local food community and learn while doing it!
