Many herbalists have favorite herbs that they use for women’s formulas, or as go-to herbs for everything from reproductive health to maternity and post-partum support.
This 5-hour class will explore 10 – 15 herbs that are considered strong herbal aids, and how they are prepared and administered. The class will cover:
herbs for pregnancymenstrual cycle issues (heavy/too light and PMS)fertility, pregnancy and birthpostpartum, including postpartum depression and breastfeeding supportvaginal infectionsmenopauseauto-immune diseases
Students will also learn about several different methods of administration for these herbs, to include salves, suppositories, tinctures, macerations, powders, and tea. Students will get hands-on experience with the herbs by seeing, tasting and processing the blends as well as hearing how they are used in real-life applications for women.
A book of favorite formulas compiled by Katia Lemone will be available at the end of the class for $15. Women’s tincture remedies would also be available for sale $10/oz.
Class Cost: $65 at the start of the class or $55 per student when paid in full, in advance. Tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable to cover the out-of-state instructor's travel cost.

About the Instructor: Katia LeMone.
Katia LeMone is an Herbalist and a Certified Professional Midwife with over 25 years of experience in homebirth and childbirth education. She has caught over 500 babies in out-of-hospital settings. She has her Masters Degree in Public Health and served in Tanzania East Africa for five years in the 1980s. It was during her time in Tanzania that she understood the need to have real skills in a changing world. Midwifery was the path she chose and then set about to teach others. As a midwifery educator, Katia has trained countless birth assistants and midwives through Maternidad La Luz Birth Center and School.
