"Gretchen's dulcet vocals and Gibson SG virtuosity" Austin Chronicle
"Her original songs display songwriting skill that's both frisky and earnest." Casey DeHoedt, Athens Exchange
Raised on protest songs, Gretchen started doing music in earnest 36 years ago at age 12. She was a member of three influential bands in the mid 1980's, Meat Joy, Girls in the Nose, and Two Nice Girls, and she was inducted into Austin Chronicle Music Poll's Hall of Fame in 2001. Weaving her songs with reading from her memoirs and ruminations about current events, Gretchen's concerts are a way to convey ideas not just a personal narrative. She wants us to think about kindness as the real revolution that will actually make a long lasting difference.
Casa Neverlandia is featured as one of the greenest homes in the world at planetgreen.discovery.com.
