Johnson's Backyard Garden invites the public to its annual Spring Potluck at the farm on Saturday, April 10! Join JBG for live music, tons of tasty local food, tractor rides and fun activities for the kids. Meet farmer Brenton Johnson and the rest of the staff, tour the fields and learn more about how your veggies are grown. Our CSA members are some of the best cooks in Austin, so come hungry to this locavore heaven, with tons of locally raised and prepared dishes. We're ready for this year's potluck to be the best one yet! Five years ago, Brenton Johnson began growing vegetables in a 30-by-50-foot plot in the backyard of his family’s home on Holly Street in East Austin. Today he’s farming 70 acres with the help of full-time employees and volunteers. JBG operates the largest Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program in the Southern United States, providing fresh, organic vegetables to 900 families a month. JBG’s vision: to feed as many Austin residents as possible via organic, sustainable farming. Questions? Contact JBG at 512-386-5273 or farm [at] jbgorganic [dot] com.
