Lifelong Friends

Potluck date:

Saturday, 20 September 2008 - 6:30pm

Lifelong Friends Pet Adoptions (formerly Lago Vista Pet Adoption and Welfare
Service, Incorporated) is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter dedicated to
preventing animal suffering, rescuing and caring for stray and abandoned
dogs and cats and finding homes for these animals, educating the public
about responsible pet ownership, and encouraging pet owners to spay and
neuter their animals. Since 1997, this all volunteer organization has
provided a safe haven for over 2000 abandoned and abused animals. Assistance
with medical treatment and spay/neuter initiatives has been made possible by
funding from various grants awarded from corporations like PetsMart and
agencies like LCRA and the Texas State Animal Friendly License Plate
Foundation. The shelter has improved and expanded its facilities and
operations through silent auctions, garage sales, and dog walks, all made
possible through the generous assistance of their many supporters. They are
located in Lago Vista, Texas, approximately 15 miles northwest of Austin.

Join us for the September potluck to learn more about the difference they
are making, the roles of volunteers in caring for the animals and their
dedication to improving community awareness. We’ll have a presentation about
Lifelong Friends by Greg Smith, and there will be a chance for Q&A. In the
meantime, you can
