I went to the whitehouse.gov website to create a new petition (Isn't that cool?) to put a stop to Genetically Modified Foods and found someone had already beaten me to it.  There is already one there which is encouraging labelling of foods containing GMO organisms.  at http://wh.gov/gAH so please go sign it.

thanks

One of the most powerful aspects of Drupal is the CCK contributed module(s).  It has undergone an interesting history from its roots in the flexinode module to it's current incarnation in the form of Fields which is now part of Drupal 7 core.  The functionality is simple but incredibly powerful.  Fields lets you add fields (just as you might in any relational database) to Drupal which can hold data.  So if you need to add a field to store the price of product you are reviewing on your Drupal site, Fields lets you do that.  Further, you can then display that information along with the produc

I really like what Jamie Alexander is doing about food especially in the school system.  I signed the petition.

There is this super cool add-on that lets you create apps for your desktop. It is called Webrunner (from Salsita Software) It is a replacement for an app I loved dearly called Prism.  I use it with a gubb.net app for my to-do list, a google calendar app, a google docs app.  I even tried a gmail app but I prefer Thunderbird.  Check out how to do it at http://lifehacker.com/5823857/webrunner-turns-webapps-into-desktop-apps

Happy Living with Justice

Happy Living with Justice hosts yoga classes as an outreach tool to increase awareness and activism on peace, justice and environmental issues so that more and more people live a lifestyle in harmony with the welfare of the entire world (particularly the  underprivileged people) and its ecosystems and also learn about and get actively involved with existing groups, who are working for a just and sustainable world. Yoga practice is followed by an interactive discussion/action to increase awareness and promote activism on issues of peace and justice with main focus on "what I can do".

Potluck date:
Saturday, 10 September 2011 - 6:00pm to 8:30pm
Instructions:

SPECIAL NOTES: IF IT IS RAINING AT AROUND 5:30 P.M. THAT DAY, CONSIDER THE POTLUCK CANCELED.

Our hosts will hold a yoga session at the beginning of the potluck from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. (before eating) so anyone wishing to participate in this free yoga session needs to arrive before 6:15 p.m. and should bring a blanket or yoga mat and wear loose-fitting clothing. The yoga session will take place on the grassy hillside on the north side of the parking lot of Barton Springs Pool (and just east of the Zilker Hillside Theater). If you aren't planning to do yoga, feel free to arrive closer to 7:15 pm. Also, there's usually a free swim at Barton Springs at 9 p.m. so folks interested in taking a dip should bring a swimsuit and towel.

Please bring a dish that serves approximately 6-8 people. PLEASE NOTE that you will need to bring your own plates, cups and utensils and drinks. The only food or drink restriction is that there are no alcoholic beverages, please.

host_directions:

Barton Springs Pool is located off Barton Springs Road in Zilker Park. We'll meet and feast at the picnic tables in front of the Barton Springs pool entrance and concession area (to your left as you walk up to the entrance of the pool). Yoga prior to the potluck will be on the north side of the parking lot in front of Barton Springs Pool. Note that there may be a $3 fee to park at Barton Springs.
