Global poverty did not just happen. It began with military conquest, slavery and colonization that resulted in the seizure of land, minerals and forced labor. Today, the problem persists because of unfair debt, trade and tax policies -- in other words, wealthy countries taking advantage of poor, developing countries.

Austin Progressive Potlucker Holiday Celebration

Join us for the annual Austin Progressive Potlucker holiday celebration! Selwyn Polit will be hosting us at his home and will plan to fire up his backyard sauna if the weather is nice and cool, so bring a towel if you want to partake. Also, you're encouraged to bring acoustic musical instruments. This party has become a tradition after our 7 or 8 years of potlucking, so we look forward to seeing everyone in all their potlucking glory!

Please bring a dish that serves approximately 6-8 people and something to drink. No restrictions on food or beverage type. Please bring your own plate and eating utensils.

Skate from 5:00—10 p.m. for $10.00 for 50 minute ice skating session and skate rentals, with all proceeds benefitting Urban Roots. With support from GO TEXAN and featuring live entertainment and refreshments on the Plaza with local food, wine and beverage vendors offering tastings of their wares in the store during the event.
