It's a pot-luck so bring something really thoughtful to eat and to share. Food, music, campfires, desserts, hot chai, old friends, new friends, family... The sauna will be up and running so bring a couple of towels if you'd like to get hot & sweaty. Hope you can make it!

This Daylong Retreat and Workshop is a great opportunity to receive instructions and ask questions about meditation and Buddhist practice from one of the most highly regarded and experienced American Buddhist teachers. The morning will be devoted to enhancing our meditation practice, and in the afternoon, we will discuss the applied philosophy of the Interdependence Project: how contemplative practice can help us succeed at building a creative, engaged, and multifaceted community in our local area. Bring a blanket, zabuton/zafu, yoga mat, or whatever you wish to sit on.

Austin Progressive Potluckers: EXPRESSIONS

EXPRESSIONS is an eclectic mix of Bahai members, poets, musicians, and artists that meets the first Saturday of every month for a poetry-music-potluck-jamboree. The February EXPRESSIONS is "LOVE POEMS ONLY" and will be a poetry and music performance featuring Kathleen Romana (La Tazza Fresca), Dillon McKinsey (from "Writing on the Air" KOOP Radio) and Edgar Pace (Cafe Caffeine Wednesdays). There will also be a round robin reading for all present after the featured readers. As an all ages event,moderation of language is requested..

Instructions: 

Please bring a dish that can feed 6-8 people and your own plate and eating utensils. Please note that food and drinks are enjoyed only in the kitchen area, not the Hall (where the performances occur). No alcoholic beverages are allowed.

This is the knowledge we need to begin Austin's SMART FOOD GRID Come learn how to create a 4 foot wide x 50 foot long raised-bed for growing kale for Daily Juice's Kale Krisp production. The Krisps are going national, and DJ is committed to sourcing from hyper- local sources (i.e. Your Yard!) Learn how to get enrolled and start growing for DJ yourself.

The potluck will be held at the home of Liveable City board members Mark Yznaga and Ann Kitchen, 2401 Briargrove Dr., Austin. From downtown, take Barton Springs Road toward Zilker Park. Before you reach Zilker Park, take a left onto Robert E. Lee Drive. Past the ball fields take the first right onto Barton Hills Dr. Go five full blocks until you come to Briargrove on your left. If you pass a green Volkswagen bug on the left you have gone too far. Go up Briargrove, their home is the last house on the right.

Celebration of Austin Farmers' Market Move into Republic Square Park
