Fruit and Veggie Fest

Saturday, June 4, 2011 - 9:00am to 1:00pm

Sustainable Food Center's Fruit and Veggie Fest begins on June 4th! Fruit and Veggie Fest is a free, five-week-long celebration of central Texas' fresh height-of-season summer produce. On June 4th at 9:30 a.m., Jam Sanichat of Thai Fresh and Thrice will do a demonstration at the downtown market. Louis Singh of Dishalicious will do a demo at Sunset Valley. Get great coupons and free door prizes from the market vendors!

Be one of the first 100 market-goers (at either market) and snag a free Blue Avocado netted veggie bag. At Sunset Valley, there will be a composting class put on by the City of Austin Zero Waste initiative program at 9:30 a.m. (in English) and at 10:30 a.m. (for Spanish speakers). Our "Featured Artist" program at the Sunset Valley Artisan Market kicks off with a Wild Moon Design demo!

June 4th is sure to be a fun, educational day at the market, so please join us at either of SFC's main Saturday farmer's market locations anytime from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. We're located downtown at Republic Square Park (422 W. Guadalupe - 4th and Guadalupe) and in Sunset Valley at Toney Burger Center (3200 Jones Road). Each Saturday has a special theme, so mark the following dates on your calender, too! June 11th--Taste of Summer Day June 18th--Tomato Me Crazy June 25th--Watermelon Festival July 2nd--Green Fourth
