This is carpentry and structural design at it’s core! We are surrounded by strong, durable and readily-available materials that are often considered unfit for the lumber yard. This workshop involves the use of Bastrop pine, juniper/cedar and other sustainably-harvested/salvaged materials from trees and bushes to make a stool, chair, and/or bench that you can take home with you!Location:Cedar Creek, TXFee:$85 for nonmembers, $68 for DBL membersThe project:During this hands-on workshop you will be introduced to the various steps of BUILDING INDIVIDUALIZED FURNITURE USING HARVESTED BASTROP PINE & JUNIPER through discussion and hands-on participation, including the following skills and concepts:-harvesting materials-wood joinery-structural design-efficient tool useAdditional Information:Fee for the workshop is $85 for non-members and $68 for DBL members and includes a healthy vegetarian lunch, water, tea and snacks.
