Updates:
Oak Hill - We are actively looking for land. Our projection is for twenty-five acres of land for twenty-five families. There are four active families with 27 on list serve. We have put a lot of time into developing our Vision and Values Statements. Also we have our Design Guidelines, which are community standards for individual houses. We are meeting every other week on Saturdays. There are plans being developed for a Consensus Workshop.

Central Austin - We are actively looking for land. See our emails on the CACTUS list serve for updates.

Rural Austin - We are actively seeking land. This Wednesday is a viewing of one promising piece. We are meeting weekly and developing our operating agreements.
Critique of Public Event (Cohousing 101): Some thoughts - Excellent experience; Need bigger signs; Change to title to reflect a "drop in anytime" format, people may have thought is was a half day workshop; Post the agenda; Isolate the TV/VCR setup to allow viewing during talks; Associate the event with a larger event that may attract people interested in cohousing; Many names, but not many by way of new members (interest indicated, but not in early stages of development); Shorter next time - 3 hours max.; More targeted advertising - get in newsletters of other groups

Next Public Event: Some thoughts were at "Flower-Rama" on April 13-14. Selwyn will hand at flyers at his Texas Tea House booth.

Earth Day - Great if there will be one. Greg to check on. We should call for a "Cohousing Picnic" associated with an outdoor event. We can display materials, enjoy ourselves and show some community. Dory will put together a display 'story board'. Selwyn will make an announcement for the picnic if Earth Day is happening.

Cohousing Potluck - We should do a CACTUS potluck anyway. Something will be planned for outdoors in May.

CACTUS list serve (cactgroup@yahoogroups.com) - A general encouragement to *post more to the list serve*. It would be great to see announcements of achievements by groups, fun things, meeting reminders, share resources, workshop announcements, questions and challenges about cohousing. Traffic on the list is pretty slow, so lets put out more information and stimulation!
